My love affair with the written word began over three decades ago. A world of ideas opened to me, a world of freedom and awareness created by reading and learning the collective thoughts of generations of artists, thinkers and innovators. My early years in the "village" of my northeastern Louisiana community taught me the need to listen and to respect new ideas. Reading, I learned, opens the mind to serve the innate need to absorb ideas, and great literary works-- books, documents and quotations that uplift the spirit, command positive action, and place in their readers' hearts the responsibility to serve the world through great change-- are created by great minds. My responsibility is to ensure that great minds cultivate their ideas and deliver their messages with revealing clarity and powerful expression.
Nearly 24 years after my first primary school editing project, I hold to my belief in the power of the idea... and the sanctity of YOUR IDEA. Your ideas are sacrosanct; placing your thoughts in others' hands is equivalent to leaving your child under a nanny's care. You trust that your child, your precious gift, is safe in those hands. At Words Apart Editing, our mission is to aid the student, the public speaker, the self-publishing writer, and the business professional in sharing ideas.
